Mould Memory

Mould Memory

People who hover over automobiles either by profession or passion will tell us that modern bumpers made of composite materials posses what they term, mould memory.

Simply stated it means that if a bumper gets pushed out of shape it can be returned to its original appearance by applying appropriate pressure to it.

Human beings are like composite bumpers in that they posses mouldmemory as well. The mould being referred to is of course original manufacture of cars and early childhood development in people. Both eventually become finished products. But both also get dented through use and though experiences in life.

We must never forget our capacity for resilience and the ability to bounce back in face of adversity. That is a gift too many of us forget we posses when insurmountable challenges seem to dominate our lives.

People who choose to remember experiences from their early years know that they have the innate ability to recover from set back and sorrow. They know that the sweet elixir of life is to be found in the process of becoming and not merely in the final results that efforts achieve.

Capistrano, the novel,
presents just such mould memory in its main characters as they struggle with their individual demons within
